European Tour/ PGA Tour

The WGC- Accenture Match Play marked the return of Tiger Woods on tour after an eight-month injury playoff. It also saw India’s Jeev Milkha Singh participating and he was up against Ian Poulter in the first round. Unfortunately, Jeev could not advance in the tournament and was ousted in the first round by the wily Poulter, who won the tie 4 & 3. The tournament was won by Geoff Ogilvy as the Aussie defeated Paul Casey 4 & 3 in the 36-hole title match.

Jeev Milkha Singh will continue playing on the PGA Tour till the Augusta Masters, which begins on April 9.

PGA Tour

While all eyes were focussed on the match play tournament, there was another PGA Tour event, the Mayakoba Classic where India’s Arjun Atwal was competing. Atwal failed to make the cut in the event after a disastrous eight over 80 in the first round put him out of contention. Atwal is still seeking his first top-ten finish on the PGA Tour this season.
